Situation

Birch Advisors Ltd is a 45-person company based in London. They currently have 15 people back in the office some days of the week. The rest are working remotely from home. Employees are currently using their mobiles, with one person set-up to take the calls that are being diverted from the main office number. For all incoming calls, he takes a message and then has the appropriate colleague call the person back. But this is neither efficient, nor a solution for the long-term. Birch Advisors needs a cloud communications solution that allows employees to seamlessly work between the office and home, without sacrificing time or professionalism.

Solution

Birch Advisors decides to move their telecoms to VTSL. The VTSL team handle all aspects of the switch-over, including number porting, installing new phones in the office and virtual training for employees. All employees are able to download an app that turns their mobile phone into their office phone. They are able to make and receive calls using their work phone number on their mobile. They are also able to do internal transfers and conference calls on their mobiles as well – without using any minutes.

Managers are able to see all call activity in the VTSL online portal, including user availability and real-time call stats. Extensions that have call recording enabled, are still recorded even when calls are made and taken on a user’s mobile. And the auto-attendant menus, on-hold music and other features the office manager needs to adjust periodically are also all controllable from the online portal, which can be accessed anywhere.

The team are now able to professionally make and answer calls on their mobiles from home, the office or wherever they may be working. Management has a clear view of what is going on and there is a true record of activity.
